I was excited to see a kitten heel available that would allow me to have the option of a heel that was not too high for every day wear. They are the most comfortable heel that I own and allow me to go about my day. I almost forget I am wearing heels. They are also so versatile allowing me to wear them with jeans or dress up with a nice dress for a night out. I had to size up half a size due to style, but the fit is perfect!
So comfy! The heel is not too high. Had to size up one-half size. Bought silver and getting black next!
Stunning, narrow fit
These shoes are gorgeous. The cut is elegant and they make the feet look sleek. The quality is excellent, as expected from Poppy Barley. I'm also so pleased to see another kitten heel option. I do find the fit to be quite narrow. In fairness, I have wide feet and always get the wide version if available. I can usually size up in Poppy Barley and get by in a standard width. The leather toe box will stretch, but my feet are overflowing over the sides of the sole. The ankle strap has been slipping down on me too. But they are so nice, I decided to keep them anyway. If you have normal feet, these will probably be amazing.
Third purchase was not the charm (fit issues and draconian exchange policy)
I want to love this brand so much, but my most recent purchase was a disappointment. I own the the Classic Loafer in Slate Grey Nubuck which has become my GO TO shoe. I literally wear them almost every day and they are incredibly comfy. I bought them in a 10 standard. Fits like a glove. I then purchased the Yonge Pump in Black. The website warned me to go up a half-size, which I did. They are just slightly too big, but definitely still wearable. I love the chunky heel but it's a tad too high for me. Then I ordered the kitten heel slingbacks. The fit guide is "true to size" so I ordered them in a 10. Wide was not an option. They arrived and are MUCH too snug around the ball of my foot. They pinch and are not comfortable at all. I wore them around for a day and then realized they were not going to loosen up. I called the concierge and was told that because I hadn't just worn them on carpet that they would not return or exchange them. I wish I had known that if they were that uncomfortable to begin with that they would not improve with wear. I think my days of buying shoes on the internet is over. Thanks anyway Poppy Barley.
