The Footprint Fund

Nature is in its worst shape in human history.

The UN reports that
“More than half a million species on land have insufficient habitat for long-term survival and are likely to go extinct."

In Alberta, our backyard is home to one of the most important wildlife corridors that requires protection in North America, The Jim Prentice Wildlife Corridor.

Protect Their Path

This corridor naturally funnels wildlife north and south through the Rocky Mountains and across Highway 3.

Human activity is making it increasingly difficult for wildlife to travel, with over 150 animals killed on Highway 3 each year.

This is where you come in.

When you shop Poppy Barley from June 18 to August 31, 1% of sales will be donated to conserve precious land and take the first steps to create future wildlife crossing solutions.

In partnership with the Nature Conservancy of Canada and the Jim Prentice Wildlife Corridor.

“We have the opportunity to make a difference but we need to put in the work. If we keep healthy natural systems intact and functioning, then we give ourselves and generations to come a chance at a long, healthy, happy life.”

–Larry Simpson, Associate Regional Vice President of the Nature Conservancy of Canada

The Nature Conservancy of Canada (NCC) protects areas of natural diversity for their intrinsic value and for the benefit of your children and grandchildren. In Alberta, they have completed more than 200 projects, protecting more than 1.1 million acres (445,000 hectares) of this province's most ecologically significant land and water. Today, the Alberta Region continues to work with partners to protect and steward Alberta's natural heritage.
